On the occasion of the “World Blood Donor Day” and under the theme of “I Give Life…It’s in my Blood”, Donner Sang Compter (DSC), the Lebanese organization that aims to centralize and maintain a database of volunteers who are willing to improve the health of others by donating blood, organized on Wednesday the 13th of June at 5h30pm, a conference at USJ-CSH in order to celebrate this day (June 14).
June 14 was chosen as World Blood Donor Day to commemorate the birth anniversary of Karl Landsteiner who discovered the ABO and Rh blood group system in 1900.
The amphitheater was full of red human being dummies put between 4 to 5 seats. As mentioned by the host Mr. Joseph Azoury, this represents the ratio of people who are in need of blood; 1 out of 5.
