986 Blood Units Collected In 20 Blood Drives Between March And April!

During the March – April 2014 period, we were able to collect not 500 … not 700 .. but 986 blood units from the drives organized around!

Looking at the numbers, DSC’s calendar has never been this busy; reaching a total of 20 blood drives in 2 months! 😀

After our BAU drive and the VOX cinemas 300 movie fundraiser, the Arab Open University had its shares on the 13th and 20th of March, with the Antelias and Beirut campuses managing more than 40 units combined.

The Antonine University followed with its Baabda campus on the 19th, resulting in around 100 lives being saved!

The NDU then welcomed us for 2 days, on the 26th and 27th, responding amazingly to our call, with an enormous 450 patients potentially receiving some help from the students’ donations!

After that, the month of March was crowned with a great experience at the Achrafieh 2020 car-free event at Monot claiming around 50 units of blood!

April was a similar fashion.

It kicked off in Zahle, with the UPA blood drive on the 2nd, quickly followed by the LIU one in Hadath on the 3rd, and a huge VOX Cinemas drive on the 5th and 6th.

This hectic busy week ended with our first blood drive at a bank, the BLC – Mathaf branch, culminating in 250 blood units and around 750 saved lives in 7 days!

After that, the AGBU – AYA Lebanon Demirdjian Center in Dbayeh witnessed the commemoration of the 1915 Armenian Genocide victims in the form of a blood drive organized in collaboration with the AUBMC blood bank staff on the 12th of April, resulting in more than 120 lives being saved.

It was then ALBA‘s turn to show us what they are made of on the 14th, followed by the UL – Fanar Campus on the 24th, the AUL – Sin El Fil on the 29th, and the LIU – Zahle on the 30th scoring alone 97 blood units!
